Responsible because safety is a big part of selling and lessons for beginners are often included in the price of a boat. Honorable because they deal honestly and work hard for your satisfaction. Its home base at the mouth of the Michopicoten River is one of the most scenic spots on Lake Superior. They offer instruction as well as canoe and sea kayaking tours in the nearby Lake Superior Provincial Park and Pukaskwa National Park.

Parks - some of the premier places to paddle on Lake Superior.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore - www.nps.gov/piro - Close by to Marquette, PRNL offers some amazing scenery. Sea caves and sea arches are scattered about but the main draw is the painted rocks. Water seeping through the ground then runs over the sandstone cliffs leaving behind colorful panels.

Grand Island National Recreation Area - www.fs.fed.us/r9/hiawatha/ginra.html - Close by to Marquette as well, Grand Island is the largest island on Superior’s south shore. Incredible sand beaches, 200’ high cliffs, bays and sea caves greet the paddler.

Isle Royale National Park - www.nps.gov/isro - The largest island on Lake Superior, this remote park offers a rugged shoreline and island trails where seeing a Moose is virtually guaranteed and a Wolf is a special treat.

Apostle Islands National Lakeshore - www.nps.gov/apis - One of the top parks for paddling in the country. Best known for its sea caves, AINL is an archipelago of islands that includes sandstone cliffs and incredible sand beaches.

Lake Superior Provincial Park - www.ontarioparks.com/english/lakes.html - Located in Ontario, LSPP offers the paddler a chance to paddle a rugged and in places isolated coast.

Pukaskwa National Park - www.pc.gc.ca/pn-np/on/pukaskwa/index_e.asp - Considered to be the best place to paddle Lake Superior by many paddlers, PNP offers the most isolated and rugged stretch of coastline to be found on Superior.

Sleeping Giant Provincial Park - www.ontarioparks.com/english/slee.html - Next to Thunder Bay, SGPP has historic and the highest land forms to be found on Superior.

Water Trails - a place to go paddling that provides public access, information on paddling and sometimes camping along the Lake Superior shoreline.

Hiawatha Water Trail - www.HiawathaWaterTrail.org - Running from Big Bay to Grand Marias Michigan, the 120 mile long water trail offers paddlers a chance to visit Pictured Rocks, Grand Island and several friendly small towns.

Keweenaw Water Trail - www.keweenaw.org/watertrail.htm - The rugged Keweenaw peninsula, formed of ancient rock, sits surrounded by Lake Superior. This water trail offers paddlers a chance to paddle the peninsula’s entire coastline and visit towns such as Copper Harbor.

Apostle Islands Water Trail - www.inlandsea.org/watertrail.php - Located within the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore.

Lake Superior Water Trail (MN) - www.lswta.org - The first official water trail on the lake, this water trail goes along much of the rugged and scenic Minnesota shoreline and protects paddlers access to a shoreline that is under strong development pressures.

Great Lakes Heritage Coast - www.mnr.gov.on.ca/MNR/glhc - The Canadian side of the lake (& more). On Lake Superior, this includes the entire Ontario shoreline.
